Free-of-charge disposal of used batteries
It is illegal to put batteries into household rubbish. You are obliged by law to dispose of used batteries by handing them in for professional recycling. You can either take your used batteries to a municipal collection point or hand them at a local shop. As the operators of our online shop, we too are obliged to accept used batteries of the kind which we sell or have sold as new batteries in our product range. Accordingly, you can return used batteries of this kind to us by mail (with sufficient postage paid) or take them directly to our warehouse at the following address:
Angela Mühlpfordt
Kirchheimer Str. 5
99301 Arnstadt
Fax: 03628/588851

By doing this, you make an important contribution to environmental protection!
What the battery symbol means
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out rubbish bin. This symbol means that batteries may not be put into household rubbish. Batteries which contain more than 0.0005% mercury by mass, more than 0.002% cadmium by mass, or more than 0.004% lead by mass, have the chemical designation of the respective hazardous substance printed underneath the rubbish bin symbol: “Cd” stands for cadmium, “Pb” stands for lead and “Hg” stands for mercury.

Pursuant to the regulations of the German Packaging Ordinance, we are obliged to take back packaging of our products which does not bear the symbol of an area-wide disposal system (such as the “Green Dot” denoting Duales System Deutschland AG), and to recycle ordispose of it. Please contact us if you wish further clarification of the return and disposal of such products. We will then provide you with the name of a municipal collection point or a disposal company in your area which will take the packaging from you free-of-charge. Should this not be possible, you have the option of sending the packaging to us by mail (with sufficient postage paid) at the following address:
Angela Mühlpfordt
Kirchheimer Str. 5
99301 Arnstadt
Fax: 03628/588851
info@knittybitty.de
The packaging will be reused or disposed of by us pursuant to the provisions of the German Packaging Ordinance.
